What this site doesn’t do

No analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. This site doesn’t set cookies.

Contact form

When you send the form, your name, email address, and message are emailed to my Gmail inbox through Cloudflare, which hosts this site, so Google keeps them as my email provider; the site itself doesn’t store them. They’re used only to reply to you, aren’t shared or sold, and are deleted once the conversation is over.

While you fill in the form, a draft is kept in your browser’s session storage so a refresh doesn’t lose it. It’s cleared when you send the message or close the tab.

Song of the day

Nothing is requested from YouTube or Apple until you press play. Then the song streams through YouTube’s embedded player (loaded from youtube.com and youtube-nocookie.com), YouTube may set cookies, and YouTube’s privacy policy applies. If YouTube can’t load, a 30-second preview streams from Apple instead. Album artwork is served by this site.

Tuner

The tuner on the engineering page uses your microphone only after you press Start. The sound is analysed in your browser and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. Stop turns the microphone off. The tuning you pick is remembered in your browser’s local storage, on your device only.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts this site. It processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser types to deliver pages and keep the site secure, and the contact form and the song of the day use your IP address to limit how many requests can be made in a minute.

Under the GDPR, you can ask to see, correct, or delete any personal data I hold about you, and you can object to how it’s used. Email me and I’ll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to Romania’s data protection authority, ANSPDCP.
